justbolts' story Standing Ground tonight. :d
I'm starting to get the hang of these robot dudes. :D I have found that my decent grasp of human anatomy and the knowledge of the way organic bodies move and function is pretty damn useless to me and I have to start almost from scratch on learning the way robot bodies move and function. I'm nit-picky, so I want joints and such to move in a way that makes real-world sense. :T
I did one character sketch that I'm pretty damn proud of, but will have to wait for Bolts to see it tomorrow, as she's already gone to bed. She's got final say on what sort of designs I use. (BOLTS: If you see this post before you leave for work, the sketches are in front of my computer. Wake me if you want to~)
I think the hardest part of creating them is the alt mode. I start with that, because I need to know what vehicle parts go where and make up what humanoid robotic parts. There's a few "futuristic/concept" vehicle websites I've been visiting that are great for inspiration; I don't really want to directly copy someone's design, even though that would make things sooooo much easier.
