The WE ALL LOVE TRANSFORMERS Amazing 21 Questions Meme
Fill out the questions in a post in your journal so everyone knows how much of a nerd you are.
1 - Name every Transformers series you have watched: All of seasons 1 & 2 of G1 (several times over) most of season 3, the movie, most of TF:A, both live action movies, some BW
2 - What was your favourite series? I am a dedicated GEEWUNer :D without the RUINED FOREVER topping
3 - Have you read any of the comic series? I’ve read a good chunk of the original Marvel run (and still need to to go pick up the rest), and most of what IDW’s put out (minus most stuff between Infiltration and AHM), I have yet to read any Dreamwave stuff though I intend to. I still need to get my hands on Shattered Glass. ::grabby hands::
4 - Which faction do you prefer? When it comes to pure honesty, I can’t actually choose. I’m a huge spazzy Decepticon fan (complete with insignia decked out car), but if I get to the seriousness of it, the Decepticons are bad guys. Pretty nasty bad guys when it concerns my species. And the Autobots are the good guys, really great good guys. Not like the annoying good guys you sometimes see in cartoons and stuff. So. Uh... I’m a big enough Decepticon fan to desire getting an insignia tattoo (very small and behind my ear), but I can’t say I prefer them over the Autobots.
5 - Which character (or characters) do you like most? Megatron, Starscream, Rumble (and Frenzy), Grimlock, Wheeljack. Top favs.
6 - Why do you like them so much?
Megatron: He’s a fantastic villain. He’s charismatic, he’s egotistical but in the way that backs his bark up with his bite. I love the level of goofiness the cartoon gave him. I love his Dead Seriousness in TF:A. I llllove his characterization in IDW.
Starscream: I love bitchy characters. Starscream appealed to me right off the bat when I first got into TF, and for quite a while he was my top favorite. I love his intelligent stupidity, his snarkiness, and his goddamned little high heels.
Rumble (and Frenzy): I also love punks. What cemented my love for these guys (and the other cassettes) is how very capable they are. They frequently take on (and take down!) mechs many times their size. I love that their size isn’t really remarked on or exploited by larger decepticons. Rumble is frequently shown in the cartoon to be out and about and at Megatron’s side as much as Starscream or Soundwave, which frankly rocks.
Grimlock: I like comic Grimlock best, but do enjoy him very much in the first two seasons of the cartoon. I like him best with “Me Grimlock” speech. I like that he’s an Autobot without a heart of gold. I like that he’s intelligent even though he has a speech impediment. I liked him leading the Autobots for some time.
Wheeljack: He’s fun. I love his accent. I love that he blows shit up. I have to admit, Dr.Smoov’s stuff really made me like him more and my internal characterization of him has shifted to include a pottymouth. It just fits!
7 - What is your favourite pairing? Write 'none' if you are not a pervert: Megatron/Starscream and Ironhide/Optimus tie
8 - Why do you like this pairing so much, you deviant?
M/SS: It’s dysfunctional. It’s completely unhealthy. But god damn it, it’s hot. The more abusive, the better.
IH/OP: They are the cutest thing to ever cute and are pretty much already married in canon. The more fluff, the better.
9- What sort of sex do you like your robots to have? In all seriousness, I’m not all into the sex in this fandom, despite being a raging, porn-consuming/producing pervert. But I have to say, for making sense, plug&play is preferred, then spark, then sticky. I just... can’t totally agree with a non-biological species having sex that mirrors biological attempts at reproduction. I have read most of the submissions on the Kinkmeme out of curiosity, though. And I will read plenty of porn fics of any kind for the characterization and foreplay. XD
10 - Dress someone up. Who is it and what are they wearing? My mind just generated a spread of characters all wearing silly hats. ::gigglefit::
11 - If you were a giant transforming robot, would you be a pirate or a ninja? ...Drift?....... Prowl?.ksdjhf If I was a giant transforming robot, why would I want to be anything else? ....Pirate, I guess?
12 - What are your thoughts on Transformers reproduction? I’m not in the Mechpreg camp, except to run by it once in a while for the lols. I like the idea of two sparks producing a new spark together, but I also don’t mind one being produced by the All Spark or Vector Sigma, and a new body being built to house that spark. (I also like new mechs to be functioning adolescents, if not full-on functioning adults. Childlike behavior just doesn’t make sense to me.)
13 - If Huffer and Gears threw down in a fight, who would win? Gears, but only because it’s fun to make Huffer’s life crap because he’s a whiner. Actually Gears is pretty adorable. Gears totally wins.
14 - RUMBLE IS RED OR IS THAT FRENZY IS BLUE OR RED WHAT? Rumble is blue, Frenzy is red to me. Blame the cartoon.
15 - Do you have a folder full of Transformers porn on your computer? Nope!
16 - How many pictures does it have in it? 0 ...unless you count our “toys humping” photos we’ve taken. In that case... seven?
17 - Your thoughts on Transformers gender. ......Long and varied. Bolts and I have long, drawn out, delicious discussions on this frequently. I’m a huge gender nut. With humans, I believe that one’s gender is not permanently tied to one’s sex, and can be different depending on some nature (hormones in the womb) and some nurture (life experiences). When it comes to giant fucking robots that don’t have genitalia or physical gender that corresponds with humans’ way of doing things, I would think they wouldn’t have gender as we know it. They probably have their own ways of dividing up the populous based on build or function. We only label them male/female because of their voice or how their actions/personality correspond with human gender norms, and the fact that the English language does not work well with non-gendered pronouns. I.... could go on forever about this. Maybe I should do a post sometime.
18 - Kiss Players is the best thing to happen to Transformers. Do you agree with this statement? LAAWWWWL
19 - Do you roleplay? If so, where, what, why, how? No, I’m far too self-conscious about my writing abilities to enjoy RPing. I much prefer to draw and do silly comics. Maybe I should do tegaki-e stuff!
20 - Are Transformers SERIOUS BUSINESS? There are some elements of this franchise that get me and Bolts to have the most wonderful serious discussions, but other than that? “lol giant alien robots that turn into cars fighting other giant alien robots that turn into planes. NOW BUY OUR TOYS.”
